The Pirtek Parramatta Eels have responded to reports Will Hopoate’s management plans to approach the Eels about the possibility of Hopoate playing in Japan in 2013.
Parramatta’s Recruitment Policy is focused on committed Rugby League players; those who are dedicated to a winning team culture and who put the team first.
This is non-negotiable.
CEO of the Parramatta Eels Ken Edwards said, “Will Hopoate is such a player. We strongly believe that in the interests of both Will and the club, he is best served preparing with the Eels and taking advantage of the pre-season guidance of our respected coaching staff.”
Parramatta’s Manger of Physical Performance, Trent Elkin and Strength and Conditioning Coach Ciriaco Mescia have been working on a fitness program, tailored especially to meet Hopoate’s unique situation.
Elkin said, “It is important that after two years out of the game, Hopoate’s comeback is professionally and carefully managed.”
The club looks forward to Hopoate joining the Eels for pre-season training in November 2013.
