Hat-tricks to two young wingers have helped the Dyldam Parramatta Eels to a 36-16 win over the New Zealand Warriors in their opening game of the 2014 season.

More than 14,300 vocal fans at Pirtek Stadium in Parramatta cheered their home team onto the win, with Head Coach Brad Arthur’s new-look side showing promising signs of things to come.

There were worrying signs from Tim Mannah in the opening hit-up, with the co-captain taken from the field for a concussion test after a high tackle.

It didn’t unsettle the Eels, with Semi Radradra scoring his first try of the night a few minutes later, picking up a great pass from Willie Tonga.

The Corey Norman conversion was successful, opening the Eels’ account for the evening.

Radradra’s efforts in attack continued with a flick pass to co-captain Jarryd Hayne allowing him to score on the left edge.

The Warriors were steady in defence despite repeated penalties against them, then attacked through Glen Fisiiahi, scoring on the edge, with Johnson missing the conversion.

Vai Toutai proved the NRL is a game of inches, scoring a try on the right edge, dodging just inside of the sideline to score.

The crowd raised its voice at the end of the first half, with the referees calling an eight-point try to the Warriors after Peni Terepo was ruled to have fouled Carlos Tumavave as he was scoring - reducing the margin to just two points at halftime.

The Eels jumped out o the starting blocks in the second half, with Semi Radradra scoring his second try in the opening two minutes, with Norman converting from right in front.

Radradra picked up his hat-trick in the fifth minute of the second half, after Hayne and Norman helped collect a high bomb and score.

Vatuvei scored for the Warriors and could have made the difference just six but the conversion was missed.

Jarryd Hayne crossed the line after a dazzling run from the left edge all the way to the right side of the field - skipping past all the Warriors on his way - but it was ruled a double movement.

Toutai added another try on the right wing - and then moments later some more Hayne magic helped him score a hat-trick of his own.

The Eels will head to Allianz Stadium next Saturday night to take on the Sydney Roosters in Round 2.
