Dyldam Parramatta Eels Head Coach says his team won’t be resting on their laurels - despite stringing together three straight wins and knocking over the premiers - with plenty of work still to be done to prove the Blue and Gold is a top-class football side.

With the Eels preparing to take on the Wests Tigers in an Easter Monday #forthefarmers blockbuster at ANZ Stadium, Arthur says the side is growing in confidence.

“It’s been a good start [to the season], the boys have worked really hard and definitely haven’t put their feet up and relaxed,” he said.

“They’re still looking at ways to improve their game on a weekly basis.”

With the Tigers also with four wins from their six games this year, Arthur says they’re also playing with a lot of pride and excitement.

“I think they’re similar to us, playing with plenty of energy and have a bit of belief, and it’s showing on the field, so we’re going to have to match their enthusiasm,” he said.

“We’re wary of all of them - take your eyes off their forwards and they’ve got some speed out wide, so at the end of the day it all comes back to us making our tackles.”

With Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah to sit out with an elbow injury, Arthur says they’re potentially even more dangerous.

“Teams always lift when a quality player is out, so all those individuals will put in an extra 10 percent to make up the difference,” he said.

The 4pm kick-off time makes the game perfect for families to attend the game on Easter Monday, and Arthur says he’d love to see a huge crowd support what will be a great battle between two Western Sydney sides.

“I think it’ll be great; I think both teams have earned the right to play in front of a decent crowd, the Tigers have been going well, we’ve been going ok, so 30,000+ would be great.”

Round 7’s Easter Monday fixture is #forthefarmers, as we partner with NSW Farmers to support farmers struggling with the drought in Northern NSW.

The Eels will be running a coin collection, as well as accepting donations with ticket purchases on Ticketek. Click here to buy your tickets to support this cause and the mighty Eels!
