The Dyldam Parramatta Eels have run away with their Round 7 NYC match against the Wests Tigers at ANZ Stadium on Monday.

With Parramatta hosting the Wests Tigers, it was an important Holden Cup match for both teams, with the two sides sitting on equal points after six rounds.

The Tigers came in to the match confident from their 38-24 win over the Cowboys whilst the Eels lost in a high scoring affair against the Roosters, going down 46-34.

Parramatta started the match with early momentum crossing the line first through hooker Kaysa Pritchard, running the ball from dummy half and setting up an easy conversion for Nathan Davis.

The Eels maintained their strong start when Fabian Goodall capitalised on a loose pass from the Tigers, running over 70 metres to score on the left-hand side of the field – the conversion attempt unsuccessful from Nathan Davis.

Still within the first ten minutes Kaysa Pritchard was able to find space and offload halfback Zach Dockar-Clay over the line. Davis was able to convert and extend the lead to 16-0.

A defensive slip from the Eels allowed Tigers' winger, Tom Satterthwaite, to score in the corner with the conversion attempt unsuccessful and trailing 16-4.

Ryan Matterson orchestrated a great solo effort close to the Wests line, finding space with fancy feet and crossing under the posts to set-up Davis with an easy attempt, leading 22-4.

Off the back of a defensive set, the Eels were able to breakaway down the left flank and following some quick offloads to Nathan Davis, he ran 45 metres to score and convert the try in the 35th minute.

In the dying moments of the first half, Watson Heleta was able to narrow the margin to 28-10 following an attacking set on the Eels line, with Mitch Moses converting.

Parramatta came out firing from the half-time talk, scoring in both the 48th and 49th minutes through Corey Makelim and Halauafu Lavaka respectively. Davis converted both comfortably to extend the lead of the home-side to 40-10.

The Tigers floated a cut-out ball to Salesi Funaki who found a hole in the Eels defensive line, with the conversion attempt unsuccessful from Moses to trail 40-14.

Davis scored his second try of the match after receiving the ball on the left flank, and despite having support on his outside, he threw the dummy to score and convert himself, leading 46-14.

The Eels started to enjoy themselves and fell into a scoring rhythm with Lavaka crossing for his second and Davis securing his hat-trick, both converted, to seal a comfortable 58-14 lead with five minutes remaining.

The young Wests Tigers didn’t have much to celebrate but they scored a try in the final minute of the match through Tyler Cassel, converted by Moses, to end the match at 58-20.

The Eels will be confident following that ten-try haul when they travel to North Queensland next Saturday to take on the Cowboys, whilst the Tigers will be looking to bounce back against the last-placed Titans at Leichardt on Sunday.
