Dyldam Parramatta Eels second-rower Ben Smith says there’s no miracle fix to immediately get the Eels back to the strong form they showed earlier this season.

Off the back of a disappointing losing streak, the Blue and Gold travel to the Gold Coast to take on the Titans at CBUS Super Stadium, and hopefully put the Parramatta season back on track.

“We’ve had a couple of losses so for us it is just about concentrating on this weekend, on Saturday night,” Smith said.

“Each team goes through it during the year, it’s almost like a snowball effect. [When you win] your confidence grows, and each win you have more confidence. And unfortunately it can have the reverse effect.”

“You can’t make excuses for what’s going on, you just have to turn up each week, so for us it’s just about concentrating on the next 80 minutes and preparing as a team.”

“I think there’s a lot of improvement [in our side].”

“During the middle part of the year we showed some great form and we had some great victories against some quality teams; it’s about getting back to that and as a team enjoying football and playing for each other.”

“We’ve got not long until the end of the season and we want to be there in the final eight.”

The Eels' Round 20 match against the Gold Coast Titans kicks off at 5.30pm on Saturday, July 26, at CBUS Super Stadium.
