Dyldam Parramatta Eels assistant coach Pete Gentle says the Blue and Gold are being careful not to take the Raiders lightly in tonight’s clash at Canberra’s GIO Stadium.

Previewing the game thanks to Unibet, Gentle warns the young Canberra side could pose a threat with their fearless approach to the game.

“We’re by no means underestimating what’s ahead of us,” Gentle said.

“They’ve got a lot of young fellas in there that are playing with a lot of energy, a lot of enthusiasm. They’re not afraid to play a bit of footy.”

Gentle says the Round 26 match up is an opportunity for the Eels to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss in Newcastle threatened to finish the side's finals hopes.

"After last week, we’ve got to salvage a bit of pride," Gentle said.

"We let everyone down last week with our performance. Fortunately we’ve got another chance and we get to right a few wrongs."

We’ve got to play a lot better and we’ve got to play our style of footy; we’ve got to get a bit of consistency back into our form."

"Where it takes us, who knows."

The Round 26 match up kicks off at 5.30pm at Canberra's GIO Stadium.
