Several Parramatta Eels legends will participate in a Charity Touch Football Game – Legends v Allstars for the Parramatta Mission at Pirtek Stadium on Saturday, 6th December 2014.

The Legends side will take on several Australian TV and Radio celebrities, however Nathan Cayless knows that despite the fun and games, the day will be vital in raising money for an important cause.

“It’s a massive partnership that we have developed with Parramatta Mission and I’m looking forward to a big event in a few weeks time,” Cayless said.

“The main goal of the day is to really raise awareness of the work Parramatta Mission do. Some government funding has been cut for the organisation and they are providing valuable services to people who are doing it tough in the community.”

“Our club is a big community club. We try and support as many of our charity partners as we can and this is just another way that our community department have done a wonderful job by partnering with Parramatta Mission.”

“Parramatta Mission help so many people that are in real need and doing it tough at the moment in our community. We are looking forward to helping them continue to raise their awareness and really get people behind the cause.”

Whilst Cayless will be taking part in the Charity Touch Football Game, he was modest in his self assessment of how he will perform.

“I was pretty pumped until I heard how long we are playing for!”

“Apparently we are playing for 80 minutes, three o clock on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of December so it’s going to be pretty warm.”

“I probably have to make sure there’s an esky full of nice cold water for after the game!”

The Legends team includes former Blue and Gold favourite Nathan Hindmarsh whilst the celebrities include chef and Parramatta Mission ambassador Jay Huxley, and Cayless is excited about the upcoming clash between the two.

“We have got some celebrities like Jay Huxley from HUX Grill. I think Nathan Hindmarsh (Hindy) has been talking it up that he’s going to give Jay a bit of a hiding and a bit of a bashing so we will see how that goes."

“Hindy has been keeping himself very very fit. He played a game on the weekend and has been doing a fair bit of training and closet training so he should be primed for a great event.”

Tickets can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com.au with several packages available starting from $8. Money raised from this event will go to the Parramatta Mission Meals Plus Community Outreach Program.
