The Dyldam Parramatta Eels will wear an ANZAC Round jersey for the first time in the club’s history when they take on the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium this Saturday, April 25.

The unique jersey features veterans support organisation Legacy on the sleeves, spaces generously donated by the Eels’ principal partner, Dyldam.

Legacy is a support organisation made up of 5,900 volunteers who care for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans, including the dependants of today’s Australian Defence Force who lose their lives or health in their military service.

“Since the club first approached us about partnering with Legacy, we have been thrilled by the support and the work the Eels have done,” Legacy Australia Acting Chairman Tony Ralph said.

“I want to extend a huge thank you to Dyldam for their generosity in donating their sleeve sponsorship to us; we’re very happy with the jerseys and the way they have shown their support for the families of veterans.”

Dyldam Chief Executive Officer Joe Khattar said the Western Sydney company was proud to donate the sleeve sponsorship spaces to Legacy.

“The work they do to support the families of our servicemen and women financially and socially absolutely deserves the recognition,” Khattar said.

In recognition and remembrance of all Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations, and our servicemen and women, the Eels will also donate $10 from every jersey sold to Legacy.

“This is the first time the Eels have worn an ANZAC Round jersey, and it’s a privilege to be able to pay tribute to and remember those who have served their country,” Parramatta Eels CEO Scott Seward said.

“Legacy is such a wonderful organisation and for Dyldam to donate their sleeve sponsorship so willingly is a fantastic gesture, and I thank them for their generosity.”

The Eels will compete in one of five NRL games played on ANZAC Day in Australia and New Zealand.
