Dyldam Parramatta Eels second rower Tepai Moeroa has spoken to the media this morning about the shattering loss to the Sharks on the weekend and his recovery from a head knock sustained in the game.
“You know (it was) our first game home in a few weeks and it was disappointing not to come away with the win,” Moeroa said of the defeat to the Sharks last weekend.
“I copped a pretty bad knock but I’ve been doing all the tests and what not that we need to do so I can get back on the field, but we’ll see how it goes today.”
“Hopefully I can be back to full training next session.”
The Eels will play their last game of the year on Sunday against the in form Canberra Raiders, and will no doubt be looking to finish the season off with a win.
“They’ve hit some pretty good form, they’re running a bit hot,” Moeroa said of the Raiders.
“Hopefully we can match up against them and it’ll be a really good game.”
There are still some emotions running high between these teams, as the Blue and Gold haven’t forgotten falling to the Raiders in Round 26 last year which resulted in missing out on finals football.
“It’s definitely due for a bit of pay back,” Moeroa said.
“They kept us out of the eight last year, so hopefully we can just get this one win over them and have the last laugh.”
The Eels are celebrating Blue and Gold Army round to thank all their Members and fans for their ongoing support and Moeroa is looking forward to being out there on Sunday to hopefully come away with a win.
“Our supporters is what drives us on the field so hopefully they get out there in numbers and the Blue and Gold Army turn up and we can get a win for them,” Moeroa said.
“When the boys are struggling and we’re backs against the wall and the crowd lift and cheer us on, it just gives you that bit of momentum and makes you want to run harder, tackle harder and play for them.”
Kick off to the Round 26 clash at Pirtek Stadium is 2pm.
