“Do you think I should change my song?”

At the beginning of the 2015 season, the Blue and Gold asked all players in the NRL squad to pick the song they’d want to hear echoing around Pirtek Stadium each time they scored a try.

The eventual choices meant we heard Black Sabbath’s Iron Man as Danny Wicks celebrated a try, “Four Five Seconds” more than four or five times thanks to Reece Robinson, and why almost every Eels supporter now knows the opening bars to Semi Radradra’s iconic choice, Black Rose’s Waidebala.

Despite missing six matches early in the 2015 season, the unstoppable winger has already bagged 22 tries in 17 games, and broke a 60-year-old record earlier in the year when he scored five doubles in five games. (Not since Newtown's Ray Preston in 1954 has a player scored five doubles in five games.)

He currently sits at the top of the NRL's top try-scorers list, just above flying Bulldogs winger Curtis Rona.

If Radradra can manage another four-pointer against the Canberra Raiders in the Eels’ final game of the 2015 season, he will have equalled Eels Hall of Fame Legend Steve Ella’s 33-year-old record for most tries scored in a season by a Parramatta player.

That scoring record explains the Semitrailer’s question.

“Do you think I should change my song? Because people know it’s me now … but I could pick another Fijian song.”
