Dyldam Parramatta Eels winger Semi Radradra says he’s looking forward to repaying his adopted country, Australia, when he wears the green and gold of the Kangaroos on Friday night against the New Zealand Kiwis.

Radradra, who has previously represented the Fiji Bati, will make his first appearance for Australia in the Friday night Test in Newcastle, and the Semitrailer says his parents are thrilled to see their son play for the Kangaroos.

“They’re very happy, they’re excited,” Radradra said.

“I asked them if I made the right decision, and they said they support me in every decision I make.”

“It means lot to play in this country and it’s not only that: this country’s been helping me to get where I am now.”

“The first thing when I came here, I wanted to play for Australia and I wanted to play in the top team and finally I get the chance this weekend. I’m ready for it.”

Radradra’s debut Test for Australia will see him line up alongside centre Greg Inglis, and play against this Eels teammate, Manu Ma’u, who will make his debut appearance for the New Zealand Kiwis.

But Radradra says he won’t be sending any cheeky messages to his opponent ahead of Friday night’s clash.

“Nah, I wouldn’t send Manu any texts or anything!,” Radradra laughed.

“It’s so good for him to play for the Kiwis, and I’m just going to do what I do best on the field. I think on the field I’ll be with GI (Greg Inglis), and we’ll just try to find that combination, and it’ll be a great week for us.”

“It’s a really good experience for me to be part of this team, and I’m getting along with all the boys. [Mal Meninga], he’s been talking to me last night when I got here and I was happy to play under him and I’m looking forward to the week."
