The Parramatta Eels will be holding trials for the girls Under 18’s Tarsha Gale Nines team on Wednesday, 14 December 2016 for the 2017 season.

The Tarsha Gale Nines competition, announced by New South Wales Rugby League in August 2016, is a brand new female competition to run alongside existing Junior Representative competitions in 2017.

Named after former Australian and NSW captain Tarsha Gale, the game-leading tournament will develop the best of the best in the age group as NSWRL push towards an elite female league.

“This is a significant step forward for not only the Parramatta District but for Rugby League and clearly outlines the importance of female participation in our game.” Matt Brady, GM Parramatta Junior League said.

“Any girl regardless of age, can clearly see the pathway for them, from Under 6 all the way through to the women’s open age groups with the opportunity of playing Representative football along the way.”

“ Our Club’s commitment to the Tarsha Gale 9’s, further demonstrates the dedicated rugby league pathway for our female participants” Michael Basan, Parramatta Eels Strategic Partnerships Manager added.
