The Parramatta Eels kick off against the Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium on Friday 17 March for Round Three of the 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership.

Preview the game thanks to betting.club, Assistant Coach Steve Murphy says the Eels will need to be prepared for a desperate and fired up Titans side who will be looking to come away with the two points in front of their home fans.

“The great part about that is that there is a lot of room for improvement,” Murphy said on starting the year with two victories.

“We need to perform very well this week against another committed opponent who is really going to need to win this week.”

“You are never really happy when you get a try straight through the middle of the park so the boys weren’t happy about that and our forwards will make sure that doesn’t happen again.” Murphy added.

Murphy stressed the need for the Eels to be switched on for the entire 80 minutes.

“We are playing a team that will be pretty desperate and fired up to give it to us in front of their home fans so we will need to perform well.” Murphy said.

“We need to be switched on, it’s the NRL.”

“If you are not switched on you will get beat by 30. It’s important that we need to start well, our kicking game will have to be good in the conditions.”

“I thought they were in control last week. That ball that Tyrone Roberts kicked out from dummy half probably changed the game. It went out and the Knights got down into good field position and made them pay, but they will be a different opponent this week.”

The Eels have just the one change this week, with Jeff Robson called into the side as Corey Norman was ruled out through injury, and Murphy says the experienced veteran will slot into the side without any issues.

“Robson is a very experienced player and a very popular member of the squad,” Murphy said.

“He will know his role, will execute it well and we are more than confident in Robbo.”

Kick off tonight as at 7:05pm local time (8:05pm AEDT).
