The Dyldam Parramatta Eels are excited to announce second-rower Tepai Moeroa has re-signed with the club for an additional three seasons.

A local junior and an Australian Schoolboy representative in both rugby league and union, 18-year-old Moeroa will proudly pull on the Blue and Gold jersey until at least the end of 2017.

“I’ve always played for Parramatta, and it never really crossed my mind to leave,” Tepai said.

“The group of boys here is really great and it’s like family, and Brad [Arthur] has helped me become a better player, so I’m looking forward to the next three years.”

“Tepai is obviously a very talented player, but to make his first grade debut at just 18 also shows a lot of dedication and hard work,” Parramatta Head Coach Brad Arthur said.

“He’s got a great work ethic, trains hard and has a bright future with the club, and I look forward to working with him over the next few years.”

Parramatta Eels CEO Scott Seward says it’s a great sign to have a player of Tepai’s talent choose to stay with his junior club.

“Tepai is one of many talented local juniors who are coming through the ranks of our club, and to have him locked into the Eels until 2017 shows we’re serious about holding onto our young prospects,” Eels CEO Scott Seward said.

“For Tepai to want to stay here at Parramatta when there were offers from elsewhere is a sign of the big things to come at our club.”
