The Fiji Bati have defeated the Lebanese National Rugby League team the Cedars, on Sunday 40-28 in a test match at Remondis Stadium.

The teams were playing for the inaugural Hayne Mannah Cup, named in honour of the heritage of departing Eels star Jarryd Hayne (Fiji) and Tim Mannah (Lebanon).

Fiji started the game strongly with the late inclusion of NRL stars Apisai Koroisau from South Sydney and Korbin Sims from the Newcastle Knights. The Bati went into the sheds with a 22-12 lead at halftime.

The second half saw the Cedars strike back, managing to level the score at 22 all, before Bati Captain Wes Naiqama scored two tries to recover the lead.

Congratulations on the great game, including our very own Eels NYC player, Fabian Goodall, who scored a try on the wing!
