Dyldam Parramatta Eels five-eighth Corey Norman has undergone multiple scans on Friday following a possible neck injury in the Eels’ opening game of the 2016 NRL Telstra Premiership season.

Norman left the field late in the first half of the match for medical attention, and did not return to the field. He underwent both CT and MRI scans to rule out the possibility of serious injury, and is expected to return to the field for the Blue and Gold against the Cowboys in Round 2 after a diagnosis of sprained ligaments.

Halfback Kieran Foran is undertaking a return-to-training rehab program with Eels coaching staff, ahead of his anticipated debut for the Eels in Round 2.

Under 20s fullback Bevan French sustained a hairline fracture to his right hand and will look to return to the field in Round 3 for the Eels.

New recruit Kieren Moss is expected to return in Round 2, after undergoing surgery for an injury to a tendon in his toe in the 2016 pre-season.

Joseph Ualesi is currently recovering from a back injury incurred in the 2016 pre-season, with an expected return date of Round 8.

Prop James Hasson is serving the final week of a suspension, and is available for selection from Round 3 onwards.

Second-rower Anthony Watmough also remains sidelined with a knee injury, and continues to train on a modified program.
