The Parramatta Eels take on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium tonight, for Round 12 of the NRL Teltra Premiership.

Previewing the game thanks to betting.club, Blue & Gold Assistant Coach Pete Gentle says the side is ready to move on after a disappointing loss last week, against a dangerous Rabbitohs side that boasts plenty of dangers.

“It was disappointing because there were opportunities in that game. We had to win it, and had to defend it, but there were key moments in that game that we missed,” Gentle said of last week’s clash to the Raiders.

“But we move on.”

The Rabbitohs suffered a 14-6 defeat to the Melbourne Storm last week, however  Gentle knows the Eels will still be in for a big test.

“They have been good the last few weeks. They have a very good attitude in defence and have been carrying the ball strong so it will be a very big test for us,” Gentle said.

“We have enough to spur us on too; we didn’t get any players in [Origin]. We are looking forward to it, we are not reading anything into who is lucky/unlucky, we are worried about us and it will be a big challenge.”

“There is probably a bit of dangers in both the forwards and back there. The Burgess boys carry the ball pretty strong, they are big boys, so we will need to do a good job in the middle there” Gentle added.

“Then the edges have Cody Walker floating out the back, and Reynolds, so there is enough there for everyone to worry about but we have had a good preparation.”

The Eels will welcome back Brad Takairangi into the side, replacing an injured Michael Jennings.

Nathan Brown was ruled out last night, seeing a reshuffled line up as Head Coach Brad Arthur updated his squad to 19 players.

“We are fortunate to bring somebody like the calibre of Brad back into the team. It’s unfortunate that every time we seem to get someone back we lose one,” Gentle said.

“But that is the nature of the game and we are really looking forward to tonight.”

The Eels kick off against the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium, kick off at 7:50pm.
