About
Top Blokes Foundation is on a mission to improve young men's health and wellbeing. We work with boys over 3 to 6 months to increase their resilience, empathy, and respect for self and others, and in doing so work to reduce the rates of suicides, mental health issues, anti-social and risk-taking behaviors. Our preventative, evidence-based mentoring programs are delivered by qualified and experienced youth workers and have been developed especially to engage and educate boys and young men. Our goal is to mentor and develop their critical-thinking and decision-making skills, as well as normalize a definition of masculinity beyond "strong" and "stoic" to improve young men's relationships with themselves and those around them.
About the Program
Parramatta Eels are teaming up with Top Blokes Foundation to help deliver programs to approximately 48 young males within the Parramatta catchment area to build on existing social impact opportunities in education and community initiatives with the aim to provide exposure and experiences for both parties, and to raise much needed funds for Top Blokes Foundation’s programs.
From this partnership, we aim to achieve the following outcomes:
- Increased resilience and skills to improve mental well-being
- Positively contributing to school, the community and the treatment of women
- Up to 25% of program participants become Sparky’s Brigade Junior Members
- Supported young males through Club player engagement activities to assist young males in reaching their full potential and increasing their social inclusion and healthy peer relationships
Target group
Young males aged 10-24 years in the Parramatta region.
