Biography
A one-club statesman, Nathan Hindmarsh was recruited by Daniel Anderson as a 16-year-old playing for Moss Vale in the Southern Highlands in 1998 and won the club’s Rookie of the Year.
Nathan debuted for the club in 1998 and went on to play 330 games for the Club, the most First Grade games played for Parramatta.
Debuting for Parramatta against the Adelaide Rams at Parkes, 16 May 1998 (Round 10), Hindmarsh went on to become the first player in NRL history to make over 12,000 tackles and the third player in NRL history and first Parramatta player to pass 30,000 running attacking metres.
Nathan was a player with a big heart and phenomenal work rate. He never gave up until the final whistle.
Hindmarsh played 17 games for NSW 2001-10 and 23 Tests for Australia including the World Cup 2000, Tri-Nations 2004, Tri-Nations 2006 and Four Nations 2009. Hindmarsh won the Provan Summons medal five times 2005-2008 and 2011. He also claimed the Dally M Second Rower of the Year five times in 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005 and 2006 and the International Forward of the Year in 2004.
Hindmarsh was the 26th Legend added to the Eels Hall of Fame.
