The Pirtek Parramatta Eels will be packing their lunchbox and heading back to school on Monday for the annual Community Festival.
Our entire top squad will visit 62 schools in a bid to tackle bullying and also pick up a few new recruits along the way.
The players main focus across the day will be to empower kids to be themselves and grow their self- respect. Unfortunately bullying is too prevalent in our society, its ugly and needs to be tackled head-on.
Club Captain Tim Mannah will lead the charge in the Guilford area, where he grew up.
Im looking forward to getting out there again on Monday. I really believe in the message we are trying to share with school kids and basically that is, bullying just isnt cool, he said.
The Community Carnival is one of our favourite events; being able to encourage kids to stand up for themselves and welcome them into the Rugby League family.
