The Parramatta Eels have suffered a frustrating 40-6 loss at the hands of the Wests Tigers in Round 3 of the Holden Cup at Leichhardt Oval.

A physical and dominant display from the defending premiers saw the scoring start in the 7th minute, with a flick to centre Leva Li .

It wasn't long after until a full-length run from Manaia Cherrington added to the Tigers' tally. Curtis Sironen returned from injury for the Tigers in spectacular fashion, helping set up a commanding 16-0 lead at half time.

A couple more quick tries to the Tigers saw them run out to a 40-0 lead - and the stranglehold on the match.

Parramatta Eels halfback Zach Dockar-Clay managed to add some respectability to the total, crossing for the away side's only try of the match in the 74th minute.

The Eels will now look to their Round 4 match against the Sydney Rooster on Easter Monday.
