The Pirtek Parramatta Eels play their second straight game on the road when they meet the Sydney Roosters on Easter Monday at Allianz Stadium in the club's first Monday night game of the season.

Keen to quickly erase the memory of last week's 31-18 loss against the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt, the Eels have been boosted by the return from injury of winger Ken Sio and five-eighth Luke Kelly. Sio is back in the top grade after a couple of weeks on the sidelines with an ankle injury, while Kelly has been troubled by a hamstring strain since hobbling off against the New Zealand Warriors in round one.Vai Toutai retains his place in the side, with Cheyse Blair to play NSW Cup this weekend for Wentworthville, and Ben Roberts shifts back to the bench to make way for Kelly.

Discipline, concentration and ball control will be the key areas for improvement against the Roosters, who are just starting to hit their straps with wins against the Warriors and Brisbane Broncos in recent weeks following a first up loss to the red-hot South Sydney Rabbitohs in round one. New recruits Sonny Bill Williams, James Maloney and Michael Jennings look to be settling in nicely at Bondi and will be the players to watch in the crucial Monday night clash.

This will be the 124th meeting between the two clubs with the Eels having the upper hand 60-58 (5 draws) including a 36-22 victory at Parramatta Stadium in their only encounter last season. Parramatta will be desperate to avoid a 1-3 start to the season and will no doubt by lifted by the news that co-captain Jarryd Hayne will remain in blue and gold until the end of 2015.
