Hi Dream Teamers,
Like a couple of other teams in the NRL comp this year, my Dream Team has had a few weeks where our performance was not as great as expected. In round 5, I came away with a total of 562, one of our least successful weeks so far.
I'll be honest, with Anthony Quinn subbed out due to injury and injuries taking their toll in my backline it's time to reassess Burty's Dream Team.
One one hand I'm keeping the faith in a couple of my injured players - Justin O'Neill and Matt Duffie stay in the squad as they recover from injury. Those Melbourne boys are quality finishers and I reckon their time will come in DreamTeam.
I'm also trusting in Daniel Tupou to make a comeback and score some points this week for the Roosters.
On the other hand, time to make a couple of trades! I'm looking for a big week this week and that calls for some new faces in the team.
Anthony Quinn ($194,600) is a gun player but he's traded OUT for now.
Anthony Minichiello ($189,400) is traded OUT - as good as the mountain cat is, his price is just too high to keep him in the squad.
In their place, I'm buying Greg Eastwood ($221,900) to beef up my forward pack. It's the Bulldogs v Roosters clash this week and Greg's named to start so I'm looking to the big man to bring some bite and perform. I've put him in my starting line up, while Ben Smith moves to my interchange bench.
I'm also buying young gun Kalifa Fai Fai Loa ($166,400) from the Cowboys - his price isn't too high after some quiet weeks from the Cowboys but I'm banking on North Queensland to have a solid game this week against the Broncos and for Johnathan Thurston to send Kalifa some quality ball.
Welcome to the side, boys! I know you'll do us proud.
Reni Maitua, Jarryd Hayne and Chris Sandow stay in the starting side as I'm predicting another quality week for the Eels this week up on the Gold Coast.
Meanwhile I'm also confident the Storm boys Bryan Norrie, Jesse Bromwich, Gareth Widdop and my Captain Cam Smith will bring in some points as they show the Bunnies how it's done, while vice-captain Greg Inglis will bring in the big numbers no matter what the result is in the Storm v Rabbitohs game.
With an interchange of Ben Smith, Neville Costigan, Nathan Fien, and Justin Horo I think we'll bounce back from our disappointing score this week.
Go the Eels, go the new blood in the side, and see you next week,
Burty
