Joesph Paulo has likened TIm Mannah's recovery from an ankle injury as a "miracle" - after the Pirtek Parramatta Eels club captain was back on the field just five days after being carried off the field after a big tackle.

Paulo says having Tim back in the side was a big boost.

"He's like the miracle man! You think he's out for the whole year and then he's back," he laughed.

"It's good to have our captain there - he's a good leader and as you can see he's the heart and soul of Parramatta."

"He leads by example at the front and it's good to follow him."

Joseph says the side is taking a lot of positives away from Saturday's 14-10 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys.

"It's pretty disappointing, the result, buy there's a lot to take out of the game," he said.

"It's good to bring pride to the jersey and hopefully we can do that each week. Ricky and the fans deserve that because we know what we can do and it was good to turn up on the weekend."

He admits the Broncos will be a big challenge this Saturday night at Parramatta Stadium.

"I watched the Broncos play a few weeks ago against the Tigers, and I think we're up for another challenge this week - they're really strong on the edges."

Paulo is also full of praise for Kaysa Pritchard and Peni Terepo, who made their debut in the NRL side.

"The went really well - they just looked like regular first graders out there," he said.

"It's a tribute to them for the hard they've put in in the off-season - Kaysa being so young and Peni putting in that hard work."
