The Pirtek Parramatta Eels are proud to be partnered with The String Movement in helping to tackle bullying in schools, workplaces and in the community.

The String Movement will be featured at our home game against the Brisbane Broncos tomorrow night at Parramatta Stadium - as well as bringing along their friends 'Fourtunate' to perform at half-time!

"It's an incredible opportunity for us, we're really passionate about disarming bullying in this generation, and getting the message out there is the moist significant thing," The String Movement coordinator Ashley Irving said.

The movement's message is "Tie it, tell it, yell it" - which empowers people to spread the message that bullying is not okay.

"We're encouraging people to tie a piece of string around their wrist to show they're not afraid to take a stand against bullying, and we will have information kits people can take away to their community," Irving said.

"Whether it's their school, their sport, their parents, their workplaces - they can yell it by running a String event of their own in their community."

The String Movement established right here in Parramatta, in the heartland of Sydney, and is now a global initiative that's spreading quickly.

"We're partnered with 140 high schools across NSW, but also have an impact in places like Russia, the UK, Fiji, Bulgaria, Ukraine - all around the world!"

The Eels are very excited to grow our relationship with The String Movement, especially since the movement is based on Parramatta home turf.

"We're stoked to be a partner with the Parramatta Eels, because the reach is so significant," Irving said.

"Parramatta is our home team and our home sponsor, so we're very excited and hope we can make a real difference!"

25 members of The String Movement will be at our marquees around the Parramatta Stadium precinct tomorrow, with merchandise and information packs available. They will also perform with "The X Factor" starts Fourtunate at half time on the field.
