The Pirtek Parramatta Eels Holden Cup side has suffered a shock 30-28 loss at the hands of the Gold Coast Titans in their round 11 clash at McCredie Oval.
The young Eels were the victims of a stunning comeback as the Titans notched up 30 points in the second half to edge out Andrew Webster's charges by just two points at full-time.
In the opening stages the blue and gold looked unstoppable, as captain Takai Moeakiola scored a double, and centres Connor Broadhurst and John Folau added another four points each.
With five-eighth Mitchell Brasington adding the extras on three of four tries, the Eels headed back to the sheds with a comfortable 22-0 lead in front of the Guildford crowd.
But the Titans were a transformed outfit in the second half as centre Mitch Ardler took just six minutes to cross the strip for the Gold Coast's first points of the day. The traffic was all one way as Mitch Sharp and Tom Rowles did the same, and Palm Beach Currumbin junior Shaun Hudson scored a double.
Despite a late try from second-rower Sean Jackson, the young Eels were edged out for the lead 30-28 on the final siren.
