The Pirtek Parramatta Eels are holding Junior League Appreciation Round this Sunday afternoon at ANZ Stadium when they take on South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Eels prop Mitch Allgood, who is a Western Sydney local junior, says it's a fantastic opportunity to bring the whole family along for a fun afternoon.

"Kids are fundamental to our game," he said.

"Being a young kid who grew up in rugby league, we loved opportunities to get out to the game and watch the NRL live, so we're hoping to get as many boys and girls from our junior teams out the game on the weekend."

The Rabbitohs may be sitting on top of the table, but this week they have a number of players absent due to State of Origin commitments, but Allgood says they're still in formidable form.

"We don't look at them as more beatable because they're away at Origin, we are looking at them as if they're playing with their top 17 players."

Despite a disappointing finish to last week's game against Cronulla, Mitch says the boys are all training hard.

"We can take confidence from the first half but we can see where we went wrong in the second half and not let that happen this week."
