The Pirtek Parramatta Eels have today congratulated the NSW Government on their $250 million master plan for ANZ Stadium and the Sydney Olympic Park precinct.

Following on from the earlier announcement of $20 million in funding from the Federal Government to upgrade Parramatta Stadium, the Sydney Olympic Park Stadia Vision announcement will see the State Government continue to ensure that ANZ Stadium remains Australias premier sporting facility.

Announced in a media conference by State Minister for Sport and Recreation, the Hon. Graham Annesley, the vision includes the installation of a retractable roof making it the largest all weather venue in Australia and the installation of moveable seating in the northern and southern stands to bring fans closer to the action at all Rugby League events.

The redevelopment will also look to improve the fan experience through the internal concourse areas with additional food and beverage outlets and the expansion of the precinct entertainment offering with cinemas, bars, restaurants and retail shops, creating an event destination.

It has been a great day for Parramatta Eels Members and fans with the announcement of developments at both our home grounds, said Parramatta Eels CEO Ken Edwards.

ANZ Stadium is our second home and we are looking forward to working with the other hirers, the State Government and the staff at the Stadium to deliver our Members and stakeholders the best facilities to watch rugby league at in Australia.

We will continue to lobby governments to improve Western Sydneys sport venues with our immediate priority our High Performance Community Centre that will ensure our team has access to some of the best training facilities in the NRL, as well as providing access to facilities for over 20,000 students per year to community, health, employment and welfare programs.
