Pirtek Parramatta Eels forward Darcy Lussick has the daunting task of playing against his former teammates at the Manly Sea Eagles on Monday night, when the Blue and Gold take over Brookvale Oval.
Lussick says he's ready for what will undoubtedly be a tough game.
"It's pretty exciting - the game is being played late in the season and we've both had a few losses the last few rounds, so we'll be two desperate teams so it should be a good game," he said.
"They'll probably be looking at this game to get a good win and get their season back on track; they're always tough at Brookvale so we know what we're in for."
Lussick has been named in the starting side for the second time this season, after having a great game against the Rabbitohs as a late inclusion in the run-on side.
"It's exciting - there's not much difference in lock and front row these days, but my main goal this year was to start, and I'm finally there, so I'll definitely be doing all I can to keep it."
Lussick says the side has been spending time in training working on everyone putting in their best performances for the full 80 minutes.
"[Sticky's been] putting things back on the individuals doing their job in defence and attack - putting all that together will go a long way to hopefully wining the game," he said.
"[After the bye] we're back into it this week and we're training pretty hard over the last couple of days, and we'll continue to do that for the rest of the week."
Darcy says it's been hard to escape the banter from playing against mates - but he's been giving as good as he's getting!
"It should be fun - [Manly's] George Rose has been sending out a few texts this week, but my main goal with him is hopefully he keeps his pants up, because I don't want to be tackling him when his shorts fall down this week!"
