Pirtek Parramatta Eels forward Darcy Lussick says it was their patchy performance that let them down this week, falling to the Manly Sea Eagles in Round 17 .

"It's obviously disappointing that scoreline, I thought we were pretty good in patches, but at other times we really let ourselves down," he said.

"Manly are a top four team and they really took advantage of our mistakes."

Playing against his former club for the first time, he says

"I had been looking forward to playing them for a long time, it's good to play at Brookie, but obviously not happy with the result."

While fullback Jake Mullaney says it was a combination of everyone's individual efforts that cost them the tries in the first half.

"Things like myself dropping a bomb, and individual missed tackles, things that that let us down," he said.

"We kept having a go, heads weren't down and we tried the whole game; so we've just got to go back next week and try again."
