Pirtek Parramatta Eels five-eighth Ben Roberts says the side has nothing to lose when they take on the Bulldogs this Friday night at ANZ Stadium, with the players keen to score a win.

"I think that's the mentality we're going out with every week; not putting any pressure on ourselves and letting our footy do all the work," he said.

"Both clubs have a lot to play up to, both having big pasts and some big games, and we're going to treat it like any other game and hopefully win."

The teams are facing off for the Bandaged Bear Cup, to support The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

"I think we were a bit unlucky the last game against the Bulldogs [in Round 2], but it's the same every week, we go back to the drawing board and hopefully we can come up with a win," Roberts said.

"There were probably a few opportunities we could have done better against Canberra, and that's what were going to do this week, making the most out of every opportunity."

Roberts has partnered with Luke Kelly in the halves, which was rated positively by Ricky Stuart last week against Canberra.

"Yeah it's been good - Kel's obviously preferring playing halfback than five-eighth and he's been doing a good job and when the half does a good job it makes your job easier."
