The Pirtek Parramatta Eels are proud to announce the club has passed the 17,000 Member mark for the 2013 season.

The 17,000 Membership milestone is a record for the Parramatta Eels football club, and a testament to the loyalty and dedication of the Blue and Gold fan base.

"The Pirtek Parramatta Eels are a proud club," said Eels Chairman Steve Sharp.

"We are a club that has faced hard times on the field in recent years, and to crack 17,000 Members mid-way through this season shows how much passion there is for the Parramatta Eels."

"The Eels are putting the pieces in place for a strong 2014, with Head Coach Ricky Stuart planning our progress on the football field, and players like Nathan Peats, Corey Norman and Will Hopoate joining the squad."

"We want to thank every Eels Member for being part of our football club, and I can't wait to thank some of our Members personally over the phone this week."

Sharp will join the Parramatta Eels board, playing squad, and Head Coach Ricky Stuart on Thursday, August 1, for the Eels Membership Telethon.

Alongside Eels greats including Steve Edge, Peter Wynn, Steve Ella, Brett Kenny, David Liddiard and Eric Grothe Sr, Sharp and the team will call and thank Eels Members personally for their commitment to the Blue and Gold.

"We value all our members, without them our club couldn't function, so we want to reward as many of them as we can with a personal phone call thanking them for their contribution to the Eels."
