Pirtek Parramatta Eels co-captain Reni Maitua is breathing a sigh of relief after the Eels long awaited victory against the West Tigers last Friday night, and says he's looking forward to the Broncos this week.

We can take a lot of confidence out of last weeks win, he said.

We beat Brisbane earlier in the year, and we had a win against them up there last year. So were looking forward to try and get back-to-back wins."

Currently sitting 11th on the NRL ladder, the Broncos have a feeling of desperation in their side, with the chance of still making the finals in reach. Reni says that although it will be a tough game, the Eels are ready for anything.

The advantage we have is that every club loves to play at Suncorp. The atmosphere is great, its a very Rugby League state, even if theyre not a Parramatta supporter, people generally support Rugby League, Maitua said.

With the Blue and Gold Army still in shock with coach Ricky Stuarts decision to place usual fullback Jarryd Hayne as five-eighth in his first game on the field after recovering from a hamstring injury, Reni announced his support for his team-mate and fellow co-captain.

Jarryd was great. I think it was a good ploy by Ricky to put him in the line. He was brilliant at five-eight and brings a lot of confidence to the team and Im sure hell do another job for us this week."

With Jake Mullaney replacing Hayne as fullback last week, Maitua said he earned his place.

Jake had a brilliant game; he had a lot of room out the back there. That just shows the class of Jarryd, he knows when to give the ball to the right people at the right time. Hopefully they can string that combination again this Friday and get another win."

After Ricky saying the boys werent playing at their best on Friday, Reni hopes to focus mainly on the teams errors involving kicking, which he says cost them a few vital moments in the game against the Tigers.

Tomorrow the Eels will be having a signing session with the Brisbane members and fans, which Reni said he is looking forward to.

Hopefully we can give back what theyve given us, and say hello to those people we dont get to see very often."
