Pirtek Parramatta Eels co-captain Reni Maitua says he'll treasure his time in Blue and Gold, after finishing his final game at Parramatta Stadium with a 26-22 win over the Dragons.
Maitua is moving on next season, but says last night's win was special.
"My first game for Parramatta was in the pink jersey, and my last game here is in the pink jersey, so it's certainly something I'll remember and great to have that win before the last game," he said.
What makes it more special is the way the side turned around after being thumped by the Storm in Round 24.
"It was a tough week, obviously what happened [against Melbourne], it was hard to get up and get motivated for this week," he said.
"We were embarrassed but it was important to turn it around quickly."
"And full credit to the boys, it might be two teams coming last but it was important we got the win tonight, especially for the members."
Reni paid tribute to the Blue and Gold Army, who has supported him since he joined the club in 2011.
"They got us through it tonight, they were very vocal," he said.
"When we turned out for warm-up I was worried because I didn't think too many people would turn up, but when we ran out all the die-hards had turned up and they've been faithful to us all year."
"It's been a tough season, so we can't thank them enough for turning up tonight. Hopefully they're grateful for the win, and I will remember it as well."
