The Pirtek Parramatta Eels can confirm that Head Coach Ricky Stuart will not see out the final 2 years of his contract with the club.

Stuart tonight contacted Chairman Steve Sharp to inform him of his decision to leave the club in order to take up an offer with the Canberra Raiders from 2014.

"This evening I have been informed by Ricky Stuart that he has been offered the Head Coaching position at the Canberra Raiders," Sharp said.

"Ricky has confirmed that he will be accepting this offer and will be resigning his position as Head Coach of the Parramatta Eels."

"Ricky has made this decision after careful consideration of many things including private matters."

"The board of the Parramatta Eels wish Ricky and his family all the best and take this opportunity to thank him for his contribution to the Blue and Gold redevelopment."

"The search for a replacement will commence immediately and Eels Members & supporters can be assured the board will recruit a new head coach that will continue our vision of returning the club to a NRL powerhouse."
