Outgoing Pirtek Parramatta Eels head coach Ricky Stuart has addressed the players, staff, board members, corporate partners and guests at the 2013 Presentation Evening, where he spoke about his decision to move on from the club.

"This decision is what's best for me and my career, and my family," he said.

"This is not a decision that's come lightly, it's not a decision that's been easy because I know it affects a lot of people."

"I've spoken to the players before the Presentation tonight and explained to them the situation and the opportunity that has arisen."

"I told them why I had made the decision. I'm not disappointed with the decision I've made, because I know it's the best decision I could make for the people involved."

Ricky went on to speak about what he thinks for the future of the Eels without him.

"The day I got the job I was asked why I took it on, and I said because it's got a rich tradition and a proud history."

"And I can see that with the people behind the scenes who are working at this club, and I truly believe this club can get back to what it should be."

"It's what I feel and what I believe, and I really do hope that happens - just to see the people who are involved in the club - their passion and emotion, I'd love to see it successful again."
