Parramatta Eels second-rower Ken Edwards has been recognised for a strong year on the field with a place in the NSWRL NSW Cup team of the year.
The forward made his long awaited debut for the Eels in the NRL in round 26 against the Newcastle Knights, but the NSWRL echoed most Eels fans when it predicted plenty more appearances for Kenny Edwards in the future.
Edwards also re-signed with the Eels in 2013 for an additional two seasons, saying he aims to repay the faith with another cracking year in 2014.
"It's been frustrating with the second tier salary cap, knowing that I can't play [much first grade during the year]," Edwards said.
"But Parramatta's put a lot of faith in me for signing me for another two years, and I want to repay them for that."
"Next year will be exciting: I know Will Hopoate well from playing with him at Manly, and I went to school with Corey Norman on the Gold Coast."
"It'll be exciting with the new boys coming along; obviously we haven't had a good year this year but there's only one way to go and that's up."
