With 2014 Membership now on sale, weve been in touch with a few of our Members from all walks of life to find out why they renewed or signed up to the Blue and Gold Army!

Our first story is with Brian Ford, whos been a Member for over 40 years.

Brian Ford has become part of the furniture around the Parramatta Eels office, having stuck his head in to say hello to the Blue and Gold staff every week for too many years he can count.

The 81 year old and his wife Irene have been Members of our club for over 40 years, and wouldnt have it any other way.

We sign up because we enjoy it! he said. Were here with the good and the bad.

I know Im probably one of the privileged ones - Im allowed to go into the dressing room, wander around the football office, meet the players and staff - but its a family thing.

With 2014s Membership theme of My Family, My Parramatta, Brian says he truly feels like the club and the team is part of his own clan.

We go back to the Cumberland Oval days before it burned down, being there with my son who used to do the raffle, he said.

And I really feel like I am part of the Blue and Gold family, seeing players like Sterlo and Brett Kenny come and go, all the way to people like Jarryd Hayne.

One of Brian and his wife Irenes favourite things to do is watch our District Reps sides play, and often travels to Cabramattas New Era Stadium to watch the Harold Matthews and SG Ball teams play.

We see them all come right through, and we know them from day one! he said.

I remember seeing Jarryd Hayne come through the ranks and he was the best player on the park, along with Krisnan Inu; when they played together it was like complete control of the park!

Brian says hed love all Eels supporters who are yet to commit to a Membership to take the step, because of the rewards that come with being part of the club.

Last year my wife and I raised the Blue and Gold Army flag [in Round 25], and we were very honoured to do that; there are a lot of things over the years that Ive enjoyed.

Id definitely encourage people to become a Member!
