Dyldam Parramatta Eels new recruit Nathan Peats says hes glad to have been given a new opportunity in Blue and Gold, saying its the push he needs to become a regular first-grader.

With pre-season training starting today, Nathan cant wait to get back into optimum physical condition.

Im happy to have a fresh start, I think I needed it in my life to be honest, he admits.

And with the new players coming in, the new recruits, and a lot of young kids, and the new coaching staff, its a fresh start for everyone.

Peatsy says he likes returning to football training with the boys, and has a favourite part:

Losing my fat! Getting back into it, after six weeks off I trained a little bit but Im excited to get back to what I know I can be with my body, and having fun training with the boys, he laughed.

Thats the best part of it, meeting the new lads and having a laugh. I think I have the best job in the world.

Peatsy says he doesnt feel he has a point to prove to anyone else - except to himself that he can become our starting hooker.

Im just looking forward to playing. I know its a long way away before we start playing, but I need to prove to myself that Im good enough to play first grade, week in week out, he said.

Im not fussed what anyone else thinks, so whats important is what I can prove.

Im pretty excited and looking forward to the challenge. Im looking forward to a big pre-season. Im not looking that far ahead, I just want to train hard and go from there.
