Justin Hunt has joined the Dyldam Parramatta Eels for the 2014 season after leaving South Sydney Rabbitohs - and we caught up with him on his first day in Blue and Gold!
Despite being sidelined for another month or two after having groin surgery in the off-season, Justin says hes excited about the challenge ahead at a new club.
Its a massive change, [I just needed] the opportunity and this club is going up, he said.
Im really looking forward to it, its sort of hard not being able to run straight away coming to a new club, but once Im back and running again, itll be good.
The surgery means he had to watch the boys first field-work session under the helm of Brad Arthur, which has made him more eager to get out there and play.
Ive spoken to Brad a bit but havent had too much to talk about yet, Hunt said. But Ive heard really good things, so itll be good!
[As for the groin], its going good - I had surgery three weeks ago now, and have physio all day, every day and then hopefully around Christmas time Ill be running - which Ill be looking forward to.
Justin, who is the son of former Parramatta Eels premiership-winning player Neil Hunt, says his dads also thrilled with his switch to return to his junior club.
Dads really proud, hes stoked for me, really happy, Justin said.
And on the back line that hell for part of, Justin has nothing but praise:
Haynesy is obviously a great player, and then youve got Hopoate and Willie Tonga, a lot of experienced blokes, so Im looking forward to it.
