Were excited to bring our second video in our series, introducing all our Members and supporters to our new coaching staff for 2014.
Steve Murphy has joined the Dyldam Parramatta Eels as Assistant Coach - we caught up with him to talk about his exciting new challenge in Blue and Gold.
It was exciting - Brads a young coach on his way up and Parramatta is a club that I think is heading for great things, Murphy said.
I jumped at the opportunity to work with Brad and his assistants in Peter Gentle and Luke Burt and the like, so its a great opportunity for the club.
After moving from the Gold Coast back to his home-town of Sydney, Steve says theres lots of work ahead.
Ive been Titans Assistant Coach since their inception in the competition and had been there 7 years, so I thought it was time for a change and Im really looking forward to it, he said.
The wife and two kids arent overly pleased with moving from our beautiful beaches on the Gold Coast to Parramatta but Im a born and bred Westie myself! he laughed.
And I couldnt think of a better place to be and Im really looking forward to it.
After joining the Eels this week, Steve says hes already been impressed by the hard work from the team and their attitude in pre-season.
The squads in good shape - there are some young guys there with incredible talent and its exciting talent - so hopefully we can harness the best of it and get them to produce it on a weekly basis.
