Dyldam Parramatta Eels 2014 recruit Brenden Santi has officially joined the club at pre-season training, after returning from playing in the Rugby League World Cup for Italy.

After his first taste at international football, Santi says hes keen to put into practise what he learned on tour.

It was a great experience and I learned a lot, so Im looking forward to taking it back to the Eels and hopefully play good footy, he said.

Mark Minichiello was my roomy and he taught me a lot through the tour, and it was great.

Santi comes into the Blue and Gold NRL squad after playing for the Wests Tigers Holden Cup side in 2013.

Im definitely excited - Im looking forward to a big year, he said.

I think were going to to well and Im looking forward to the challenges.

I think were going to come through the challenges and its good to see that confidence, and I think all the boys are thinking the same thing.

Making the switch to Parramatta was Brendens biggest decision of his football career to date, and not one he took lightly.

It was a good opportunity with a good bunch of blokes, and I think I can learn a lot underneath Brad [Arthur], he said.

Weve come from adversity and theres only one way to go and I want to be part of that.

Ive spoken to Brad today, and asked him about my goals and what he wants from me this year, and he made it clear, so Ive got to take that on board and do it at training.
