Australian Kangaroos fullback Billy Slater has been named in the 19-man squad for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup final against New Zealand this Sunday morning.

The 30-year-old returned to full training on Wednesday for the first time since injuring his left knee in Australia's quarter-final win over the United States a fortnight ago.

Also named in the side is Dyldam Parramatta Eels star Jarryd Hayne, who is anticipated to play in the centres after scoring seven tries in his last two matches.

Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens will wait until Saturday night to finalise his 17-man team but he is expected to keep faith with the players who did the job in style in recent games.
