The Dyldam Parramatta Eels and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are excited to launch the Race to 20K, to see which club has the most passionate supporters for 2014!

Neither Club has reached the 20,000 Membership target before, however record-breaking sales have the Bulldogs and the Eels both confident of reaching the milestone first.

Parramatta CEO Scott Seward says the Eels embrace any opportunity to assert dominance over the Bulldogs.

Parramatta supporters have stepped up to every test the Club has faced over the years and I know the chance to claim bragging rights over the Bulldogs will be a significant incentive for many to sign up as a Member, Seward said.

Winning the race to 20,000 will also help us to win the battle on the field with the extra Membership revenue to go towards our high performance programs.

We want to walk away from this challenge with a clear cut win, said Bulldogs CEO Raelene Castle.

The great battles between the Bulldogs and the Eels, especially during the '80s, are a big part of the reason why these clubs enjoy such extensive support.

Were now asking these supporters to convert their passion into Membership and Im very confident the Bulldogs will rise to the challenge.

In order to add a little spice to the competition, Castle and Seward have agreed that the team flag of the first Club to pass the 15,000 Member mark will fly at the headquarters of the opposition for one week.

A range of other initiatives are also planned to mark significant milestones on the way to 20,000, involving Alumni, Members and mascots and both clubs will be activating comprehensive digital strategies for the campaign.

Canterbury legend Terry Lamb, who thrived on the rivalry with Parramatta, is keen to spread the Membership message.

I see people all the time who tell me how much they love the Bulldogs and my message to them is pretty simple: if you love our Club youve got to become a Member, said Terry Lamb.

Making the Membership commitment brings you into our Bulldogs family and the great sense of belonging thats associated with that.

Eels great Luke Burt says his competitive nature always kicked into another gear when playing the Bulldogs, and this campaign will be no different.

The match-ups between the Eels and Bulldogs are legendary - and one of my favourites was the 2009 Preliminary Final, Burt said.

I love seeing the Membership numbers from our club increase, and Im sure the Blue and Gold supporters will come out to put us on top.
