The NRL clubs have banded together to launch their official playing strips for the Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines, with the pre-season tournament starting in just over three weeks' time.

15 of the 16 teams were on hand to unveil their jerseys, with the countdown on until the tournament takes place on February 15 and 16.

Powerful Dyldam Parramatta Eels forward Kelepi Kanginoa was representing the Blue and Gold colours at the event, showing off our popular Nines jersey - which is now available for pre-order!

NRL Head of Football, Todd Greenberg, had some good news to deliver to Rugby League fans, announcing there are only limited seats remaining before the event is declared a sell-out in its inaugural year.

“To attract over 90,000 fans over two days – including more than 10,000 from outside of Auckland – for the inaugural event, which is still 24 days away, is a great achievement,” he said.

Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah, who is one of the ambassadors for the tournament, says the atmosphere in Auckland is already one of excitement.

“I was in Auckland last week and the talk about the Nines is non-stop,” he said.

“Everywhere you look there are pictures of Paul Gallen, Willie Mason, Todd Carney, Greg Bird – on trains, on shop fronts, bus shelters - and there are banners across the main street, on flag poles and shop windows - the atmosphere is going to be electric!”
