Dyldam Parramatta Eels Head Coach Brad Arthur has confirmed English international Lee Mossop will arrive at the club next week, after enjoying a break after the 2013 World Cup.

Mossop joins the Eels after winning last year’s Super League title with Wigan, and arrives in Australia next week.

“Lee Mossop will be here on Tuesday, he’s been jumping out of his skin to get here,” Arthur told the media.

“He just had a few hold ups but he’ll be here on Tuesday ready to go!”

Casting aside any concerns over the short pre-season he will have in Blue and Gold, Arthur says he will work hard to learn the team structures.

“You’ve got to remember he was part of the World Cup [for England] and deserved a rest, and all the other boys [who competed at the World Cup] have only really come back into training in the last week,” he said.

“So it’ll be a bit difficult for him in terms of not having long to work within us, but his job’s pretty simple as a prop-forward, just run hard and make your tackles.”

Arthur says there’s no pressure on anyone in the squad, with his focus on making sure the players get the best out of themselves physically and mentally in the pre-season.

“We’re the same as every other club, we’re training hard and the boys are doing as much as they can,” he said.

“All the signs are positive at the moment, there’s no pressure on us at the moment because we haven’t played a game, but I can’t ask for any more from them.”
