We catch up with Dyldam Parramatta Eels winger Semi Radradra after our first game of the Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines, where the Eels beat Roosters 18-11!

The “Semitrailer” scored a hat-trick, the first of the Nines tournament.

“I feel good after scoring those [tries], but I reckon the hard work from the boys made me look better out there,” he said.

“I felt good - it reminded me of playing Sevens back in the days, which is similar to the Nines.”

Semi piled on three tries, with Vai Toutai scoring the fourth - and says it was lots of fun to be out on the field.

“The team was pretty fast, the Nines is very different from NRL with 13 men each side, but today was definitely fast,” he said.

The boys are now heading into their preparation for the next game against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs this afternoon, before playing the Brisbane Broncos tomorrow.

“It’s exciting, all the boys are excited - they said after the game, they feel comfortable, and work hard on the next game,” he said.

“It feels good, like everyone put in the effort.”
