Undefeated after three trial games, the Dyldam Parramatta Eels Holden Cup side will be brimming with confidence ahead of Round 1 against the New Zealand Warriors this Sunday at Pirtek Stadium.

The season opener will include half a dozen new faces in the Eels team, notably Joey Lussick - brother of Eels NRL forward Darcy Lussick - and Australian Schoolboy and local junior Nathan Davis.

Key Eels to watch include centre John Folau, hooker Zach Dockar-Clay and forward Pauli Pauli, who all have trained with the NRL side and played alongside in our trials and the Dick Smith NRL Auckland Nines.

The 2013 grand finalists in the Warriors are also a much-changed side for 2014, with nine new players coming into their starting side for Round 1, but will still be a force to be reckoned with on the field.

Michael Ki will pull on the New Zealand jersey against his former side, after playing two NYC games for Blue and Gold last season.

Both teams also new coaches at the helm for 2014, with Justin Holbrook moving to the Blue and Gold after a successful stint with the St George Illawarra Dragons NYC side, and Warriors legend Stacey Jones taking up his new position with their Under 20s team.

Kick-off is at 4.15pm, with gates at Pirtek Stadium opening at 4pm. NRL kick-off follows the NYC game at 6.30pm.
