Dyldam Parramatta Eels Co-Captain Jarryd Hayne has heaped praise on young forward Junior Paulo, after he set up a brilliant try in the Eels’ 36-0 win over the St George Illawarra Dragons.

Hayne, who scored a double in the big victory in front of 18,631 supporters at Pirtek Stadium says Junior’s offload was perfectly timed.

“For him to do what he did takes a lot of confidence, because he didn’t actually see me and he was juggling the ball, and it takes a lot of composure to do that,” Hayne said.

“Junior’s been one of the young blokes who have really stood up this year and he’s definitely got a huge future.”

The Eels fullback also praised the team’s defensive effort in keeping the Dragons to zero points.

“I don’t think I’ve seen that for awhile, so it’s probably one of the biggest and best wins I’ve been involved in, so it was a good feeling,” he said.

It’s also the biggest crowd the Blue and Gold have played for at Pirtek Stadium in over two years, which helped encourage the side on.

“It’s always good to play in front of a big crowd, and the atmosphere was electric at Parra!” Hayne said.
