The Dyldam Parramatta Eels are jumping behind our co-captain Tim Mannah and three other Eels players who are giving up alcohol for Dry July!

The boys will go alcohol free until after July 31 - with donations now available online.

“We’re doing it for the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre here at Westmead Hospital, and trying to raise awareness and some funds for people doing it pretty tough,” Mannah said.

Tim will be joined by Mitch Allgood and Ben Smith on a booze ban this month - and Tim says it’s not going to be too hard a task.

“I think it’s one of those things that you’re willing to sacrifice to help other people and I’m not a big drinker, but it is nice to sacrifice something to help others”

“We’re pretty blessed to be in a position to use our profile to make a difference and help others and make a positive difference in the community, so for us to be able to sacrifice something for a month is a pretty small thing when you think about the lives that can be changed,” he said.
